General Dentistry Services Overview

Cleanings & Oral Cancer Screening

Maintaining good oral health and eventually saving money are facilitated by routine examinations. We suggest doing this every six months so that, in the event an issue occurs, we can recognize it quickly and treat it more successfully. This results in less time at the dentist and lower out-of-pocket expenses. We also will make sure there are no worries about oral cancer.

Crowns

By covering weakened or unsightly teeth, crowns offer strength, functionality, and beauty. Two visits are needed for the placement of a crown on a tooth. During the initial appointment, any decay is removed, and the tooth is readied for the crown, after taking an impression of the tooth to make a crown, a temporary crown is placed on the tooth. This temporary crown is removed, and the permanent one is put in its place during the second appointment.

Fillings & Composite Resin Fillings

The damaged tooth structure will be replaced with either a bonded composite resin (tooth-colored) filling after decay removal.

If found early enough, cavities can be easily and painlessly treated. Defects in teeth can cause pain, infections, and/or the requirement for root canal therapy or tooth extraction if left untreated.

Bridges

A bridge replaces a lost tooth by replicating the function and appearance of the missing tooth by being anchored to the teeth close by. Depending on the desired level of strength, wear, and/or aesthetics, the bridge may be built entirely of ceramic material, porcelain linked to metal alloy. Similar to getting a crown, this will also take two visits.

Replacing a missing tooth as quickly as possible is essential to avoid the adjoining teeth moving, which could cause other problems.

Root Canals*

A root canal is done to save the tooth when severe decay has reached the tooth’s nerve. Moreover, it might be necessary if a tooth sustains damage or infection. During the procedure, the injured nerve is cleaned, and the canals are filled to prevent the pain and infection from spreading. The tooth will typically require a crown for stability and to preserve the tooth’s structure.

*Please note, at this time, we do not perform root canals in-office, but we will refer you to a specialist.

Tooth Extraction

Usually, we exhaust all options before extracting a tooth, but trauma or severe tooth decay occasionally makes it necessary. Tooth replacement options will be explained and reviewed.

Sealants

When applied to the chewing surfaces of the rear teeth (molars), dental sealants are thin coverings that can stop cavities (tooth decay) for a very long time. Sealants physically block the grooves on the chewing surface of teeth from being colonized by bacteria and decay. A substance called fluoride fortifies enamel against the acidic attacks of bacteria by reinforcing its hardness. Fluoride and sealants are both crucial for cavity prevention!
